It is December 2022. The year ends this week. Goodbye!
Hey. It's me, A Bee. You know, from the internet. I am here to do three things:
Sorry to confront you with my human visage, alas it’s me :¬)
Unfortunately, such is the nature of life, I dealt with some more Hardships™ this year. But through it all I kept a-craftin'.
In addition to crafting a handful of unique accessories for sale, personal projects, and my Freebie Friday weekly digital patterns, my heart and soul was stolen (willingly) this year by a little streaming program called Our Flag Means Death. Maybe you've heard of it. It's about pirates, yes, but at its heart is found family, the multifaceted Queer Experience, and love. Season two just finished filming and is due to air sometime next year. I helped beg campaign for it to be renewed, which included inundating social media feeds, tagging HBO Max and Warner Media in everything, keeping it as the most in-demand program for 7 weeks in a row, AND participating in a good old-fashioned letter-writing campaign! I dove headfirst back into Tumblr to engage with other people about the show, joined Discord groupchats, and am reading fanfic for the first time in ages.
As part of the huge wave of beautiful fan art and creations OFMD has inspired, I made three jewelry pieces. Check them out here:
I have at least two more Our Flag Means Death jewelry pieces in-progress for the coming year that I’ll finish, share, and list for sale when we get closer to the aforementioned season two (SEASON TWO) release. Also, as a whole little box full of other projects and plans! Some teasers: googly eyes, neon 90s nostalgia, woven cord, fused beads, and more ... !!
You can find the accessories pictured and more available for purchase at my Etsy shop, which I am promoting here. Right now. This very minute.
At the end of November, for Small Business Saturday, I renewed all of my accessories in stock for sale in my Etsy shop.
Guess what! This day was founded by a multinational multi-billion dollar credit card company. Fantastic! That makes sense.
Anyways, we live in a society and I am participating in it. While traditionally you're encouraged to patronize local independantly-owned businesses for your Holiday shopping, I am throwing my hat in the ring as an independant artist and craftsperson with an online shop of handmade colorful, precious, and unique jewelry. I currently have three plastic schoolboxes full of wares busting at the seams, plus some overflow.
Also, like, we're still in a global pandemic so maybe congregating for mass outings in small enclosed spaces isn't the best idea! Maybe! Wear a mask, please.
Please peruse and purchase if you wish. OR I would equally appreciate sharing my shop with someone you know who will think my accessories are cool beans AND in the market for one-of-a-kind gifts for their beloveds. More eyes = more potential for sales. That's how it works in this fast-paced world of neon rainbow plastic lacing and novelty spider rings.
As a special treat for those who subcribe to this RSS feed and/or visit my website, I have activated a coupon that applies to my whole shop. Enter code INTERNETBEE4SBS at checkout for 33% off your order, or click this link.
Shop small and support your favorite artists and craftsfolk; we're creating our lil hearts out and eternally grateful for your patronage :*) we need money for food and shelter and other such necessities including trinkets and also socks

Looking forward to 2023 ...
Freebie Friday will keep posting as scheduled: every Friday 3pm EST. Just yesterday, I published some changes to my patterns page. Check my RSS feed to read all about it:
❝
I've spent a few days slightly shifting the layout of my patterns page. I removed the buttons and made them into title links above each pattern. Also, all variations now included in a stunning flexbox display! I think it looks pretty darn good. Take a little scroll and judge for yourself.
I'm still working on having download links (maybe those will be buttons?) for each pattern. As it is, you can do the standard right click / long press and save manually.
I have applied for a handful of full-time graphic design / production assistant / sign shop jobs because, well, I need money. And I need to get back out there and do some physical work again. I've been surviving on part-time house cleaning, odd jobs, my small amount of Etsy income, and savings for the past year. My health is still up and down—building your gut flora back up from scratch and healing inflamed intestines from the ravages of C. diff (I wasn't kidding about the Hardships™) is a messy and prolonged ordeal—but I feel a little better with every passing month. In fact, I hit a seven month benchmark yesterday!
That'll do it for now.
Bye, 2022.
Cheers, folks.
